still in McDonalds an little after buying the stars...... I sat down had few burgers and started to use my computer. After a whle of sitting there i began to hear and notice some kids on the other side of the store talking loud. As i began to listen closer i started to hear that they were cursing. Well i could only really here one or two distinctly cursing.
It was disturbing to me for the simple fact that i wasnt the only one being shook or affected by the language. There was a lady sitting directly infront of me on her computer and each time the boys cursed i could see or feel that uneasy look on her face.
I couldn't help but to think to myslef how kids dont really know there place, how so many of them already think they are grown and have made it, and that they feel in many ways that nobody can tell touch or tell them something. It is true that no one can touch or tell them anything considerining the way the world had evolved into, but isnt true considering the fact that they are no more than just kids.
It got to me the way they were acting so i made my way over to the kids and without asking if i could sit next to them........i just did.
I looked very intimidating in each of their eyes but in a friendly way and i asked them each how old they were.....they were 11, 14and 15 respectively and then i very blountly told them that needed to stop cursing. I told them that i knew if their parents were here they wouldnt be talking like that and they needed to act the same way you would as if your parents were sitting right next to you - because you represent your family and your parents and you make them look bad when you talk like that. I went on to tell them that they are so young and inncoent that they have no idea how close to the end of the world we are..... i told them i wasnt going to get all religious on them, but i told them that there use to be a time where kids (no matter where they were) were suppose to be seen and not heard.....and in the grand scheme of things that time wasnt that long ago.
i could tell by the looks on the kids faces that they were shocked that complete adult stranger wlould come up to them ans say the things i was saying because in todays world ntot too many people do that. but the good thing about it was the fact that they seemed to be taking in and letting it register the things that i was saying.
I went on to tell them to think about the where they were and to consider their surroundings.......i pointed outt the lady and the other 2 adults that were there and asked them to do me a favor and show respect to us because we showed respect by being quiet and conducting ourselves in a resepctable manner.
i knew they were talking and cactinglike that because they want to be grown alwready and i went on to tell them that part of being grown is not talkling like and adult but acting like one. show respect to others you are around.
i told them and i know that they will proly havekids one day and they would want their kids to carry themselves the way they were raised even if they (the parent) isnt around. i told them to respect us and not curse and to really show resepct atleast by lowering their voices. I asked them if we had a deal and they said yes and i shook all of their hands and i felt as if i made a difference, but most of all i felt as if i was in the right place at the right time...............i guess i tsill have a lil bit of that christmas spirit left in me that seems to perpetautae itself like the times:
1: giving a 5 dollars to a man at the bus stop
2: getting off the bus to wake a person who regular raod the bus to get on
3: and getting out of my chair on greyhound to help a handicap lady by getting her cructhes on top of her seat for her...
this all happened in december before christmas but the feeling i received and the look on their faces reassured me also that i was meant to be there or do that for that person
RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME!!!!!!!!
