Why Do Dogs Do It Better? prt.1

walking to her doggy bowl
as if to my own death
for i knew i had done her wrong
i was feeding her 3 hrs after
her usual feeding time
but before i could pour the contents
of "DOG CHOW"
our eyes locked
into one of the longest
starring games i had ever engaged in
but through it
i was freed from that guilty feeling
i had previously sentenced myself to
cause in her eyes i saw forgiveness
not a word was spoken
a sigh of regret
not a whimper of sadness
or look of dissappointment
on her part
nothing did i experience
but forgiveness
So I lean down
with a smile of relief
to pour her food
and what does she do?
She licks me
Not once but twice
i look at her again
and with those same eyes
i could see thankfulness
not only diid i see it
i felt it
Wow.....
I said to myself
tho she is a dog
she is representing
how us as humans should be
i thought to myslef
why cant humans be more like that
it seems as if dogs do it better
