A FIGHTING CHANCE

I've been knocked down
knocked out
So many times
from the game of basketball
So bad even
that many have counted me out
 they say
 THERES NO WAY
He can come back from this
get up from this
So as I lay here
OFF THE COURT
 KOMA LIKE
I wonder if it holds any thruth
IM TOO OLD
IM FINISHED
for what ive heard people say
hangs in the walls of my mind
like newspaper clippings
ooh how I can still hear
 the spectators say
STAY DOWN
 but in my dreams
My DREAM was always to RISE UP
SO as Im hanging on to my BASKETBALL CAREER/DREAM
 like im (someone) on life support
I hang onto the idea
 that as long as my heart still beats
theres always a lil fight in me
 to do what I love to do
so......
don't pull the plug
don't count me out
just yet
just set (me) up another match
(with the game of bball)
 put me back in to "the ring"
(on the court to play)
and watch me fight
ALL I NEED IS A CHANCE
