i read the book i came away with alot of things that i can take with me throughout my daily life. For example the quote in which his Dad told him at the start of the book about days piling up. It's funny cause my dad said the eaxct same thing to me
this is what my dad said "youre young and yhou think youre gunna stay young think youre goin to be able to do this and do that accomplish all the things you want, but yo wont or cant and thats life" - that was more of a pararphrase of what my dad said. but u get the jist of what hes saying
i was inspired by the book and the character lonnie to try my best not to give up on my dreams and not procastinate.....its so easy to do that especially for a guy like me. im all about procastination.
i also took from the book to not judge a book from a cover and things are not as always as they seem. i took from the book how the most unlikeliest of friendships can happen in the most unlikely way, but those are special friendships and to cherish those friendships. Looki at my life i see ive had some friendship that occcured out of no where but they became and still are some of mybest friendships
bottom line.................. after reading the book i am motivated to do my best and pursue my dream of playing ball for a college somewhere. I still hear my twin brother in my ear from a phone call he made to me one night in Decembr "this is it, our last chance to make something or make good out of our basketball career" he's so right and we are getti8ng older too ................and the last thing i would want to do is have that "what if" feeling in my stomach, not take this chance and let the "days pile up"
on my dream
